Lagoon Monster Love

So I just got home from Monster Ball

a little while ago, and it was amazing! I cried twice, sang through every song, danced like it’s my job, and put my fucking paws up. A fantastic experience since the rest of this week has been so hard and complicated! 

Honestly though, I really did feel set free. I know Gaga says that allllll the time, and it may sound like bullshit, but it’s so different being there, watching her, feeling the energy. I feel a little more new, a little more free, and a shit-ton more ready than ever to just go for whatever I want and start being more brave.

I dressed up  like GaGa from the Telephone video. The part at the beginning where she has that studded leather jacket and the coke can rollers, except I couldn’t do the rollers, because my head was then too tall for the car. /: Damn you, car! 

Edit: My brother, @uptonog00d, made these crazyyyyy awesome cigarette glasses from the Telephone video. Seriously, these are the shit.

The enrapturing rush of exhaustion.

All of this work is strangely relaxing. This staying up all night to polish the screenplay, then staying up all day to film, then going to class, and editing all night; I love it. I may whine and whine that “we need to get this done or I’m going to slaughter everyone,” but I love this shit.

This revives me. It’s like drinking the blood of virgins (ha). If I ever stop doing this, someone kill me, because I’m as good as dead.

I’ve just spent an entire night with my little cousins, whom I do see weekly, but we never have sleepovers, so this was a special night. We did all sorts of fun sleepover stuff (including “makeovers”…oh god, I still have glitter in my eye). They are some of the most awesome people I know.  

Sabrina (the oldest, 7 years old) just had “a terrible dream where [I] moved to New York and never came back” and then when she woke up, I wasn’t in the bed. When she found me she was crying so hard. I mean, just huge tears, and she was doing that awkward sobbing thing that makes you unable to talk. She then fell asleep after making me pinky promise that if I ever decide to move, I must first ask her opinion (which will of course be ‘no’), and whispering, “I love you, Chelsea,” in her tiny, sweet voice. The half of my body she’s asleep on is starting to become numb, but I couldn’t care any less.

If I could be guaranteed kids like Luna and Sabrina, I’d have 19 of them (and counting, ha). I love these children so much.
